Technology: The Future, or is it now the Present?

I have recently received a new laptop and phone (Dell and Samsung Tocco Lite) and have been thinking about technology lately.

Ten years ago people were only just getting into the internet, I myself had only been usuing it for three or four years, but since then it has exploded onto the scenes and is now a part of everyones life. Heck, even my grandad e-mails me every now and then.

The internet has taken off immensely, twenty years ago people said mobile phones would never work, look at them now, you can watch TV, take pictures and listen to music all on one device. Incredible. All down to internet access, it is amazing that the extent to which the internet has worked, people now shop online, bank online, even watch TV online.

I have been thinking about this, in ten years so much has happened, what will happen in the next ten years? Phones are getting mroe complex, look at the iPhone, such a small thin device, yet contains so much. With the introduction of the iPad the next ten years look unbelievable for technology.

Has anyone seen the film Avatar? If not, you should, incredible film. On it, they have handheld computers and digital maps with no screen, just pure touchpad technology. I was amazed when I saw this, but it is not out of this world that this will be introduced within the next ten years. Sci-fi is becoming reality.

It is a scary thought that films from the 90's are now reality, and with the introduction of I.D. cards or wireless banking it may not all be for the good. Is it really secure to have a wireless bank card? That is a topic for another day.

Stay connected readers.
